In the film "Requiem for a Dream 2001", four prisoners manage to escape and seek refuge in a Cistercian monastery. However, once inside, they quickly realize that nothing is as it seems in this isolated sanctuary. As tensions rise between the fugitives, who are desperate to protect their newfound freedom at any cost, and the unsuspecting monks who find themselves held hostage, a nightmarish battle for survival ensues. Each group is willing to go to extreme lengths to maintain their control, leading to a harrowing and suspenseful showdown within the walls of the monastery.
