In the year 2030, humans began to communicate with races living in the world of "Proximity World" through "Buddy Fight." "Buddy Fight" is a type of battle game where selected humans, known as "Buddy Fighters," team up with "Buddy Monsters" from the other world to engage in battles together. The protagonist of the story is Yamato Agito, a sixth-grade student at the Partner Academy Elementary School. One day, Agito saves a boy who is being harassed by delinquents. This act catches the attention of Drum, the son of the Dragon World Hero from the distant world. Drum takes a liking to Agito and forms a pact with him. "Future Card Buddy Fight" is a trading card game developed by the Japanese card game company "Bushiroad," claiming to be the "largest battle in Bushiroad history" and the "strongest TCG of this century." The manga serialization started in November 2013 in the December issue of "Monthly CoroCoro Comic," while the anime premiered in January 2014. Both the Japanese and English versions of the physical cards were released in January.
