CBS has always maintained three original series airing in its summer lineup. Following the conclusion of "Under the Dome" and "Extant," CBS has directly ordered a new series, "American Gothic." This show, penned by Corinne Brinkerhoff and produced by the creators of "Under the Dome" and "Extant," is set to premiere next year alongside the new series "BrainDead" and "Zoo" in the summer lineup. The series follows a prestigious Boston family as they try to redefine their position in the city after a series of murders linked to their ancestors come to light; their ancestors are the prime suspects in these murders.
